The Second Order is committed to handling your personal information with care, discretion, and in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Where applicable, we also comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and, for clients located in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
By engaging with our services, making an enquiry, or completing a booking, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.
What Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum personal information necessary to provide our services. This includes:
Your first name and email address, provided at the time of enquiry or booking.
Booking information, including session dates and booking history.
Payment confirmation, being a record that payment was received. We do not collect, see, or store any payment card details. All payment processing is handled entirely by our third-party payment platform under their own privacy and security policy.
Any additional personal information you choose to share with us voluntarily before or during a session, including sensitive or health-related information. We collect this only to the extent that you provide it, and it is treated with the highest level of confidentiality.
We do not require your surname, phone number, or physical address to book or attend a session.

Bookings made through our third-party booking platform, through which you provide your first name and email address.
Communications before or after a session, including any intake correspondence where applicable.

To reference or describe in general terms themes or outcomes for professional development, peer supervision, or educational purposes, No Client will ever be identifiable from any material shared in this context.
We will not use your personal information for any purpose unrelated to the above without your explicit consent.
Marketing Communications
If you have provided your email address in the course of enquiring or booking with us, we may from time to time send you information about our services. We will always include a simple, clear way to opt out and will honour all opt-out requests promptly.
We do not send unsolicited marketing communications to people who have not engaged with us directly. We do not sell, rent, or share your contact details with any third party for marketing purposes under any circumstances.
For clients located in the United Kingdom, we comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). As an existing client or enquirer, you fall within the permitted customer relationship basis for email marketing, however you retain the right to opt out at any time and we will always honour that request.
For clients located in California, we do not sell your personal information. You have the right under the CCPA to request access to, deletion of, or information about the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hq@secondorder.one.
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties except in the following limited circumstances:
Our third-party booking platform and payment processor, who receive only the information necessary to perform their function and operate under their own privacy policies and security standards.
Where required by law, or where we have a reasonable belief that disclosure is necessary to prevent harm to a person.
We do not share session content, communications, or any sensitive personal information with any third party under any circumstances, except as stated above and in Sections 4.
Third-Party Platforms
Our booking and payment services are managed through third-party platforms that operate their own privacy policies independently of ours. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any platform through which you book. We take reasonable care to select platforms that meet appropriate data security standards, however we are not responsible for the data practices of third-party providers once your information is within their systems.
Storage, Security & Retention
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Information is held in password-protected systems and is accessible only to us.
We retain personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Our retention practices are as follows:
Booking and transaction records are retained for five years from the date of the session, in accordance with Australian Tax Office requirements and equivalent obligations for international clients.
General correspondence and enquiry records are retained for two years and deleted thereafter unless there is an ongoing relationship or legal reason to retain them.
Any sensitive or personal information shared voluntarily during a session is not recorded or retained by us beyond what is communicated in the session itself.
Where information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it securely.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights in relation to your personal information: the right to access the personal information we hold about you; the right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information; the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations; the right to withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time; and the right to make a complaint about how we have handled your information. Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16 without verified parental or guardian consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately at hq@secondorder.one and we will take steps to delete it promptly.
